These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RouteRide website and services ("RouteRide", "we", "us"). By using RouteRide you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What RouteRide is

RouteRide is a search and trip-planning tool. It shows cars that third parties have listed for sale near a driving route and estimates how far each one takes you off course. RouteRide is not a car dealer, broker, lender or seller, and it is not a party to any sale. Any purchase is a transaction between you and the seller.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to form a binding agreement. You are responsible for using RouteRide in line with the laws that apply to you.

3. Using RouteRide safely

Route lines, detour times and directions are estimates and can be wrong (for example because of traffic, closures or roadwork). Do not use RouteRide while driving. Obey traffic laws and posted signs, and use your own judgment about routes and stops.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the service or collect listing, dealer or map data, or make requests at a rate that could burden it;
• copy, resell, republish or build a database or competing service from RouteRide results or the underlying listing data;
• bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits, security features or usage restrictions, or use the service to reach our data providers' systems directly;
• probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the service, or interfere with its operation;
• upload malicious code or use the service for anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful, including harassing dealers or other people.

We may limit, suspend or block access at any time, without notice, to protect the service or comply with our agreements with data providers.

5. Accounts and paid plans

Creating an account is free and optional. Some features — searches beyond the daily limit, longer routes, and certain filters and sort options — require RouteRide Pro (a recurring monthly subscription) or a RouteRide Trip Pass (a one-time payment for time-limited access), priced and described on the account page before you pay.

Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details. RouteRide Pro renews automatically each month at the then-current price until canceled. A Trip Pass is a single payment that does not renew and does not carry over once it expires. You may cancel Pro at any time by contacting us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and except where required by law, payments (including partial periods) are non-refundable. We may change plan features or pricing for future billing periods; we will not reduce the access you already paid for during a period you already paid for.

6. Third-party data, dealers and links

Listings, prices, photos and dealer details come from third-party sources, and maps and routing come from other providers. We do not control or endorse them. Links lead to sites we do not operate, and their terms and privacy policies apply. Please read our Data Provider Disclaimer and Listing Accuracy Disclaimer, which are part of these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

The RouteRide name, logo, design and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your personal, non-commercial use. Third-party names, logos, photos and data belong to their owners. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database License. If you send us feedback or ideas, you allow us to use them without obligation to you.

8. Disclaimers

RouteRide is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any listing exists or is accurate, or that any estimate (including detour times and deal estimates) is correct.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RouteRide and its owners, contractors and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, wasted travel, travel costs, or the cost of a vehicle or its inspection, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify RouteRide against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service.

11. Changes and termination

We may change the service or these Terms at any time. If we make material changes we will update the date above. Continuing to use RouteRide after a change means you accept it. We may end or restrict your access at any time, and you may stop using the service at any time.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where RouteRide is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to bring any dispute in the courts located there, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

13. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, with the policies linked above, are the entire agreement between you and us about the service.
